VIP Player and Family Information

VIP INFORMATION

The AYSO/Special Olympics VIP Soccer program provides a quality soccer experience for children whose physical or mental disabilities make it difficult to successfully participate on mainstream teams.

These players are Very Important Players (VIP).

We recognize that all people need to feel a sense of belonging and acceptance. The VIP program offers that acceptance and carries the philosophy of Everyone Plays to new heights - giving everyone a chance to play.

VIP PROGRAM GOALS

     > Have fun playing soccer
     > Understand the fundamentals of the game
     > Learn teamwork and fair play
     > Increase positive self-esteem
     > Become more physically fit
     > Meet and be comfortable with new people

SEASON INFORMATION

VIP Practices/Games:

     Day: Saturdays
     Time: 11am-12pm
     Location: Storke Field (at UCSB)
     Season Start: Saturday, September 13th
     Season End: Saturday, November 8th

VIP Fun Tournament & End of Season Celebration:

     Day: Sunday, November 16th, 2008
     Time: 10am-1pm, lunch and awards included
     Location: Storke Field (at UCSB)

PLAYER REGISTRATION

In order to register your child for VIP soccer please download the following documents and follow the instructions below:
   (You will need Adobe Acrobat to download the Player Registration and the Player Profile. If you do not already have Adobe Acrobat it can be downloaded for free by clicking HERE.)

     1. Download AYSO Player Registration Form Here

        a. Complete registration form in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
              > Once the form is completed, click the SAVE icon in the left hand corner. Title the                  new copy as your "CHILD'S FIRST NAME LAST NAME REGISTRATION".
        b. Email the saved copy to Ali Sprott-Roen at aroen@sosc.org.
        c. Print 2 copies - Bring one signed copy to the first VIP game and keep one copy for your
            records.


     2. Download VIP Player Profile Here

        a. Complete Player Profile form in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
              > Once the form is completed, click the SAVE icon in the left hand corner. Title the                  new copy as your "CHILD'S FIRST NAME LAST NAME PROFILE".
        b. Email the saved copy to Ali Sprott-Roen at aroen@sosc.org.

If you are unable to fill the forms out on the computer for any reason, please print and complete them, then mail to Ali Sprott-Roen at the Special Olympics Office:

AYSO VIP/SPECIAL OLYMPICS ORIENTATION & VOLUNTEER TRAINING

Family members of VIP players are invited to attend the AYSO VIP/Special Olympics Orientation and Volunteer Training. The orientation and training will provide pertinent information about the new AYSO & Special Olympics partnership as well as a detailed overview of the VIP program.
